[ARCHIVED] TOWN ELECTION VOTING OPTIONS

Any voter who wishes to vote on election day, June 16th, may do so at their usual polling location.  Canton’s polling locations will be open from 7:00am to 8:00pm.  If you do not know your voting precinct or polling location, you may find them here.

On election day, for the health and safety of voters and election workers, social distancing will be practiced and voters will be requested to wear a mask while in the polling place, unless there is a medical exception.  When entering the polling place, voters will receive a sanitized writing implement for marking their ballot.  Hand sanitizer will be available when entering the polling place.  The check-in and check-out tables will be equipped with acrylic tabletop shields.  Election workers will wear masks and latex gloves.  Voting booths will be disinfected after each use.

Any voter who prefers not to vote at their polling location on election day has the following options:

First, the law allows any person taking precaution related to COVID-19 to vote by absentee ballot.  The Town Clerk’s Office is open for any voter who wishes to vote in person at Town Hall via an absentee ballot.  The deadline to vote in person at Town Hall is noon on Monday, June 15th.

Second, the law provides for early voting by mail only.  Any voter may obtain an early voting ballot.  An application for an early voting ballot must be received by the Town Clerk by noon on Monday, June 15, 2020.  A ballot will be mailed to the voter.  Early voting ballots must be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office by 8:00pm on election day, June 16th.
