Most of the Commuter rail lines out of both North and South Stations have trips out of Boston that leave after 11:00 pm. This service allows customers who live in your community to work late, attend sporting and cultural events or just enjoy the nightlife in Boston. But for communities served by four lines, that option is not available because your last train leaves well before 11:00pm.
The Middleboro/Lakeville last train is at 10:30 pm weekdays, 10:35pm on weekends.
The Kingston/Plymouth last trains is at 10:40pm on weekdays, 10:45pm on weekends.
The Greenbush last train is at 10:00 pm on weekdays, 10:55pm on weekends.
The last Stoughton train is at 10:40 on weekdays.
Every other line has service at 11:20 or later. All of the North Side lines have service at Midnight or later.
The MBTA Advisory Board Representative from Duxbury has been working hard to get the same level of service in the South as in the North. This parity can be achieved with little operating cost and would be a great benefit to residents looking to enjoy the offerings of Boston without driving into the city.
The MBTA wants to hear what the communities want before they move forward on this proposal.
Please email your input on the opportunity for later trains to bos@town.canton.ma.us and it will be passed on to the MBTA Advisory Board.
