The Selectmen’s office has just been notified by the Canton Fire Department that they are on the scene of a damaged 800 gallon propane tank on Balancing Rock Rd. near Wayside Lane and York Street. The tank is discharging (off gassing) the propane in a controlled manner. The propane may emit a strong odor and may take several hours to completely dissipate. The Fire Department has called appropriate staff to safely manage the scene. Vapor levels are being monitored as are potential ignition sources. There is no danger to the public at this time. If conditions change this message will be updated.
