TEMPORARY CLOSURE OF CANTON METROPOLIS RINK
Unfortunately, three Canton Metropolis Rink employees have tested positive for COVID-19. The employees are currently isolating and the Canton Parks & Recreation Department is following guidance from the Canton Board of Health. As a result, and in an abundance of caution, other Metropolis Rink staff members are being tested for COVID-19 and will quarantine or isolate following the Canton Board of Health recommendations. In response, the Metropolis Rink will be temporarily closed while we continue to sanitize and deep clean the facility. During this time, we will continue to work with local health officials to meet quarantine and contact tracing responsibilities. Once we meet the criteria to safely reopen we will update all user groups on our reopening plans. Thank you for your continued support as we navigate the current situation. Questions may be referred to Charles Aspinwall at the Select Board’s office at 781-821-5000
NOTICE OF TOWN OFFICES OPERATING BY APPOINTMENT ONLY
Due to the increasing number of positive cases of COVID-19 in the Commonwealth and in the Town of Canton, all municipal offices will be moving to a “by-appointment only” service model beginning at 8:00 a.m. on December 21, 2020. This model will remain in effect until such time as positivity rate reflects a sustained downward trend as it did during the months of June, July and August. All offices will be staffed during normal business hours.
The appointment only service model is intended to limit contacts between visitors and employees; thereby promoting a safer work environment for visitors and employees. Residents are encouraged to conduct business, via phone, email, US mail or by using the website when possible. There is also a drop box located at the front of Memorial Hall for any payments or other hard copy communication with Town Offices.
Please follow this link for detailed policy on the appointment only model: Appointment Only Policy
Please follow this link for a directory of departments to contact to make an appointment if necessary: Directory
