One Day Entertainment Permits

The Select Board issues permits for all one day events to be held with entertainment.  The permits are applied for through the Select Board office and are approved at public Select Board meetings.  There are two applications - one for events being held on a day between Monday and Saturday and another for events being held on Sunday.  If the event is to be held outdoors please see the link below for safety procedures.  

Safety Procedures for Outdoor One Day Events

The fee for a permit for an event held one day on a day between Monday and Saturday is $40 made payable to the Town of Canton.  The fee for a permit for an event held on Sunday is $50 to the Town of Canton and $5 made payable to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for an all day event held all day, and $2 to the Commonwealth for an event held after 1:00 p.m. 

The applications must be received by the Select Board office three weeks prior to the date of the event to allow for adequate time to place on a Select Board meeting agenda.  The forms can be emailed to the Select Board and payment sent to the office at 801 Washington Street, Canton or form and payment can be mailed or dropped off at the office.  Please call the Select Board office with any questions at 781-821-5000.
