  • Al-Anon/ Alateen – free weekly meetings for families and friends of alcoholics. Alateen is for younger individuals. In-person and virtual, location dependent. Meetings available in other languages & every day of the week.
  • Learn to Cope – peer-led support group for family members whose loved ones struggle with substance use. Weekly, evening, virtual meetings. When in-person meetings resume, the closest meetings to Canton are in Dedham and Quincy.
  • What You Can Do To Prevent Your Child From Drinking – Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA)
  • Talk. They Hear You. – SAMHSA campaign focused on aiding parents and caregivers to start talking to their children early about the dangers of alcohol and other drugs.
  • AdCare Hospital’s informational and support meetings for families- individual and group counseling, educational sessions, intervention help, and mentoring. Virtual until further notice.

  • Family Checkup – parenting skills highlights developed by NIH
  • Allies in Recovery – free online home when a loved one is abusing drugs or alcohol. Short modules, exercises, discussion boards with moderator.
