What is Narcan?

Narcan is the brand name for naltrexone. It's a prescription medicine used for the reversal of known or suspected opioid overdoses. Narcan cannot treat overdoses of other substances that are not opioids. Anyone can be trained and carry Narcan.

Where to get Narcan

  • Any pharmacy, per the state of Massachusetts' Statewide Standing Order. No prescription needed. More detailed information from the state here.
