What is Narcan?
Narcan is the brand name for naltrexone. Naltrexone is a pharmaceutical drug used for the reversal of a known or suspected opioid overdose. Narcan cannot reverse overdoses of non-opioids. Anyone can be trained and carry Narcan.
Where to get Narcan
- Any pharmacy, per the state of Massachusetts' Statewide Standing Order. No prescription needed. More detailed information from the state here.
- Attend and complete an overdose prevention training (limited supply available)
