Grant Information
According to the Mass Cultural Council (MCC), there is no community without culture: it defines our understanding of the world, provides us with a shared language, and creates meaningful connections between people, places, and institutions. Culture enriches the quality of life and well-being of individuals and families across the Commonwealth. That is why the Town of Canton supports our Local/Canton Cultural Council, festival organizers, artists and nonprofit cultural organizations to deliver powerful experiences. These entities from Massachusetts and Canton in particular, are at the heart of our rich cultural life. Using form, sound, color, language, and movement, they help us interpret our past, understand the present, and envision a better future.
CANTON CULTURAL COUNCIL ANNOUNCEMENT
The Canton Cultural Council, a participating member of the Massachusetts Cultural Council, is pleased to announce the opening of the 2022-2023 grant cycle. This is an opportunity for artists, musicians, and educators to share their talents with the Canton community.
Last year our council awarded 18 grants to many worthy organizations, including the Canton Community Theatre, the Canton Farmer’s Market, the Revere Heritage Trust, and individual speakers on topics such as the Holocaust and World War II. Other grantees presented documentaries, and STEAM education programs at the Canton Public Library
While a few of the recipients are museums, and organizations outside Canton, the emphasis is on performers and educators whose programs take place within our community.
Online applications open on September 1st, and the deadline is October 17th. To access the application on or after that date please visit the Mass Cultural Council website at https://massculturalcouncil.org/communities/local-cultural-council-program/application-process/ and the site will direct you to the process.
