Forestry Group performs pruning of trees under Public Works jurisdiction. The Town prunes trees for safety, health, and structural improvements.
- Crown Cleaning: Most common pruning practice. It is used to remove dead, dying, diseased, damaged, and out of place branches.
- Crown Raising: Used to provide clearance over roadways and pathways by the removal of lower limbs on a tree.
- Crown Reduction: Used to reduce the overall size of a tree or a portion of a tree by shortening branches that go beyond the desired location. This technique is used by Utility Companies to protect street lights and wires.
