PLAYGROUND GENERAL INFORMATION
Age: Any youngster six or over is welcome on the playgrounds
from June 25th to August 17th to participate in the supervised
playground program. Children under the age of six should be accompanied
by a responsible guardian or adult at all times.
First Aid: Any injury on the playgrounds, if it is of a
serious nature, will be responded to by the Canton Fire and Police
Departments. Each playground is equipped with a first aid kit for minor
accidents. No playground or other Recreation Department staff will
administer aspirin or any other drug of any kind to a youngster.
Activities: The daily Recreation program on the playgrounds
will include: drawing, apparatus play, painting, football, softball,
kickball, arts and crafts, special events and bus trips.
Bus Trips: The Recreation Department will again be operating
bus trips to such locations as
Pawtucket, baseball games, New England Aquarium, and Horseneck Beach.
Registrations will be conducted before the bus trips leave Canton to
avoid mix-ups and delays.
Special Events: Throughout the summer, individual playgrounds
as well as the community
wide program will be participating in special events to include: Special
Shows, Field Days, Arts and Crafts Displays, and much more. All events
will be published in advance in local town newspapers.
