About Us The Rotary Club of Canton, MA was chartered in 1938. With a current membership of 16, the club meets each Wednesday at 12:15 at Nick's Place on Neponset Street. Our principal fund-raiser each year is the Rotary Yard Sale supplemented by working refreshment stands at Foxboro Stadium with other local non-profit organizations. As 1997 marks the Bicentennial for the Town of Canton, we anticipate fund-raisers in conjunction with the year long celebration, as well as the opportunity to promote Rotary in general. With funds raised each year, we award a scholarship to a deserving graduate of Canton High School and the Massachusetts Hospital School. The Rotary Club of Canton, after considerable thought and research, adopted the Neponset River under the State of Massachusetts Adopt-A- Stream Program. The Club's goal was to raise the awareness of Canton residents to the recreational and economic importance of the Neponset River. To raise this awareness the club created a River Day Celebration with for-profit and non-profit exhibitors, children's games, and the canoe race as the fun activities. The Canton Rotary Club looks forward to another year of serving our community in addition to a year of fellowship in Area 5 and District 7950. |
