The 2005 Friends of the Canton Public Library Book Sale

The Friends of the Canton Public Library's "Ed Bolster Memorial Book Sale" was a record-breaker, earning over $6,000 in sales.  A special "Friends only" preview night drew over a hundred new and current members.  President Deni Garabedian thanked all the tireless volunteer Friends who helped plan the two-day event, sorting and re-boxing books and arranging the lower level of the Library for the convenience and safety of shoppers.

Joining Book Sale Co-chairs, Renate Clasby, Anne Goetze, and Joyce Wiseman, were "official" book-sale volunteers Kathy Fox Alfano, Linda Berman, Barbara Carbone, Betty Chelmow, George Comeau, Ellie George, Irene Johnson, Patti McDermott, Deni Garabedian, Millie Hathaway, Mary Jane Mangan, Peg Mead, Sarah Nemetz, Joan Nordgren, Liz Parker, Mona Podgurski, Vin Shea, and Bertie Stratis.  Many more unscheduled volunteers helped with the heavy lifting.  We are grateful to them all.

With rainy conditions forecast, The Friends were glad of their decision to bring the sale indoors this year (good thinking Betty!) and take advantage of the ample space in the Community Room.
