The Canton Historical Wiki is supported with the bequest of Mr. Edward Bolster, and is predominantly the voluntary work of Mr. John Healey, a professional archivist and Canton resident.  Like the more famous "Wikipedia" the Canton Historical Wiki is intended to grow with the help of people willing to share their knowledge and expertise... people like you who care about preserving the memory of Canton's past.  Whether you choose to become a contributing editor, or just wish to learn more about Canton's rich history, we hope that you will enjoy this resource.

Ancestry.com is available to patrons for use in the Library. It provides genealogical information from over 4,000 databases and four billion names and covers the U.S., U.K., Canada, Ireland, and other countries, from sources that include census data, maps, military, immigration, DAR records, slave stories, and more.

The Canton Public Library accepts U.S. Passport applications by appointment. (Please call 781-821-5027). Four members of our staff are trained passport agents. Applicants should visit: http://travel.state.gov/content/passports/english.html to understand their particular requirements prior to calling for an appointment. Passports are valid for 10 years (or 5 years if issued prior to the 16th birthday). Plan ahead when traveling abroad: allow six weeks for processing your passport to avoid the $60 expediting fee.

We've partnered with Driving-Tests.org to provide free DMV-approved practice tests to help student drivers successfully complete their driver education program.  Get more information about Driving-Tests.org, or go directly to the practice tests.

Wireless Internet (Wi-Fi) is available throughout the Library.  Print to our Print Release Station in the Reference Room via Wi-Fi from your Windows or MAC laptop.  Go to: www.tinyurl.com/cplmaprint for instructions.
